Has any one had a chance to try out the new After Effects CS5.5. Just curious if the new tool that removes or corrects shaky footage is really worth the upgrade.

Hi Eric

News Blue made one for near 100$ and this stabiliser his very simple. Personnaly i used

the one made by PRODAD work very well call Mercali.

You always wanna stay current, man. Stabilization can now be found in most NLEs so it's probably not the biggest selling point... plus AE has been able to stabilize since it's v4 release back int he day.

That said, again, staying current is easy and if you are putting producers behind you in the suite, it's a no brainer. Expression utilization keeps evolving and that's what turns most on as they upgrade.

Hey Guys!

I am aware that AE has always had stabilization. I guess what I wanted to know was if it was that much more improved in 5.5. And if it was worth the updgrade.

depends on your budget and needs. Short answer for most, yes.

What about tuning up the sound preview on the main preview? I mean, sometimes its a bit hard to make animations following a certain beat if you are only doing it by the sounds wave.
