I have been doing indie/short-format/wedding video for about 6 years now. All my work has been from "word of mouth". I have never done any advertisement of any kind. I am looking to do a little more wedding work and was thinking of doing an ad in the YellowPages or something similar.
Has anyone had any work come their way from ads? I am wondering if it pays to do it? Let me know what has happned for you!

I have been advertising many years with many companies and I can tell you who works best and in this order:
PartyPop.com
WeddingWire.com (which also includes Martha Sterwart weddings)
Brides.com
TheKnot.com
WeddingChannel.com
Hope this helps!
