I keep trying it, hoping it will work, and it frustrates me more each time.

I select several Jumpbacks, set up a batch, change the size etc, select my output folder, and select render all. It asks me for the Discs, renders and then it's finished. I go to the folder, and THEY'RE NOT THERE... THEY'RE NOT ANYWHERE ON THE PC!!

not in the default My documents folder, no where on the system, where did it render them to, another dimension?

From now on I swear I am just importing into Avid or VPX  from the disc and making any changes in the editor. what a sucky piece of software.

Rant over.

I actually stopped purchasing from Digital Juice because it's been difficult using the juicer. I have tons of items from them and for me to find just one thing I want takes so long. Time is money for sure!

What I've wound up doing, is using the Juicer to preview the jumpbacks, and then writing down where they come from, import into Avid directly from the disc and then altering it within Avid or Aftereffects (mostly just colors etc.)  I find some of them very useful, others not so much.  I work for a rather conservative state agency so mostly used for graphic backgrounds so I like the more subtle JBs.

I will use the juicer like Bill, as a browser then go get the cuts off the disc. I've found the juicer tends to take too long to read discs and the output can change directories, even if I tell it to use the same folder for all output.I do use it for alpha elements though.

I stopped buying from DJ a while back when they stopped making the Jumpbacks, ETK's and Stack Tracks. Now you can't buy any of that stuff. I can't imagine a company taking good product off the line simply because they want to keep only new fresh products out. Hey, if a product is selling and in demand, why not offer it?

They put something out then discontinue it. I suppose this is to make people rush to buy it. It makes me rush to avoid it.

I think they made the juicer to complicated, It's a compiler and browser. Too bulky for what it's main purpose is. IMO

My thought about DJ's odd business model, which now seems to be more "partner products" is they didn't want to rent warehouse space, so they make limited runs of things once in a while. But it mystifies me, the jumpbacks and ETK's were incredibly useful and what made their name.... I keep looking for others now, take them, mix them with a matte, etc and you can get some great stuff.

I use their stuff quite a bit, both in my day-job and personal work, but it has been a while since I've seen any new stock animations from them. I have a couple of volumes of DJ fonts, but they are very difficult to use in Juicer. I convert them to LiveType fonts using the plugin, and do my comp in LiveType, even if it's for a static design.
