I've been using, for better or worse, Adobe Encore 2.0. I just produced a DVD for a client agency, checked the DVD on a player and it was fine, all links etc worked.  Well, they want to play it on a computer and are having issues with it stopping, etc.  I took the master disc and on the computer here the video is fine but the audio stutters. Burned a new disc, same thing. It plays perfectly fine in a DVD player.

Any ideas?  I did try to duplicate it in my dupe tower and there was a failure to load the partition, twice, so maybe it's a burner issue?

seems to be an issue with the one system. the disc plays fine in a dvd player and on another computer. On this one, the audio is distorted and the video is slow. Still troubleshooting.
sometimes the audio output when making a dvd is set to mpeg audio and European dvd players like that more than North americian dvd players, I'm not talking about pal and ntsc. Anyway if the disk is screwed and you do not have a master I would recommend importing, not rripping, to a avi. the best way to do this is find a dvd standalone recorder with firewire. Alot of people do not realize that the dvd recorder firewire is also a output, not just in. So capture from the dvd recorder through firewire and the recorder/player is doing hardware decompression rather than solfware and lets you capture a high quality avi as a "new " master

Thanks David,

in the intervening time I have determined this is a hardware issue with the DVD burner. I connected an external USB burner to the PC and everything played fine. The disc plays fine in other computers and in a DVD player, just not in the system where it was burned. :-)
