Except for the excellent picture quality, the surround sound on most discs is really out of this world. Maybe the additional space is used effectively for HD sound and perfect channeling. Cheers Dave Naudé

Remember when DVD media first came out, it was terribly expensive too. Early adopters seem to be targets for price gougers.

I agree about the blu-ray cost. Amazes me that they are still charging about $15 for one blank blu-ray dvd.

Blu-Ray may be interesting for storage capacity.
But the disk are expensive to put a 30 minutes or a 1h project ?
A big lost....

I just finished working on some Disney BDL discs. I don't have a PS3 yet - - but the interaction (tested at the studio) is AMAZING. I don't think that it's fully realized yet. When the economy picks up, maybe it'll catch on (if it's not too late). Options for authoring.... whoooo!
