I use h.264 high quality 3000kbs
exporting to Quicktime movie whit avid

I try in vegas Pro 8 Xvid and have probleme issue with the sound ? ( sync )
Maybe a bad set up or choice for sound.
The recent clip i done i try the H264
But André for your WMV what setup you using in Vegas Pro 8
for the HD 720P ?
BTW I notice a dramatic loss in quality in the Montréal subway in Flash.

I forgot top add.
I have another web page where I compare PC video files sizes produced with the same sample file. Of course H264 is not in the group cause I didn't have a MAC at that time. I will surely add this format for comparison in the near future.

Being a old PC user, I use two codecs mainly with my Vegas7 to edit my quality web videos:

1. WMV
AVI converted to WMV for high quality 720p ..see sample here: http://www.bestlinkfilms.ca/films/resurrection/private-resurrection-FR.html
2. FLV
AVI converted to FLV for medium res 720p, see the same movie here:http://www.bestlinkfilms.ca/resurrection/

Now that I also own a Final Cut Studio equipped Macbook Pro, I will of course test the Quicktime H264 with the same source file to see the difference.

Encapsulated and non-encapulated quicktime MP4 and H.264 with data rates and frame sizes tweaked to suit. I've found that flash just has too much overhead especially on some of the lower-end machines.

Douglas Spotted Eagle one of the vasst member team made a DVD on the subject
he is going far with and tell we need to edit for the web.
So find the limit and work with it.
In the clip with the Buffalo you see easily the artifact specially when the codec try to made a single green for all the grass.First i try to using the MWV but he lost frame so the film it's worstI try also Dvix..

Unfortunately, Eric's link contains outdated information. YouTube now uses widescreen video and supports high-definition.
