Hey there, as editers, espically computer based ones, we all know first hand of the toll it takes on your wrists. All that mouse cliking does add up.
I'd love to know what techniques everyine uses to keep their wrist from falling off at the end of the day.
Personally I use wrist support wraps usually when I edit, (i dont have carpel tunnel or anything like that but I'd prefer to keep that a bay)

I use a shuttle pro to simplify keystrokes and lots of stretching.
I have not had that issue, but I use various computers thru the day, so I change position a lot. Plus I take breaks. My shuttle pro helps a lot as well.

Wow that is a good question. Hope someone has the answer! I have another problem... when I get up and walk around my knees make cracking noises. I shift my legs around while I sit and edit but it has gotten to the point that when they crack really loud then I know I put in a productive day :)
I use a Wacom tablet, so I use both a pen and a mouse, and I don't have any issues at all. Plus I take breaks for both my wrists and my eyes.
I clear a big space on my desk and rest my entire forearm (elbow included) on the desk when using a mouse. I used to work for someone who gave me a wimpy desk with no space so my wrist was just hanging off the end of the table with no support... that's when I had really bad wrist problems. Also, I think the height of your chair has to be such that your elbow can rest on the desk without "reaching" up or down.
I bought a shuttle pro, and now is the hard part - what functions do I want on it?? I don't want to put the wrong shortcuts on.

Which keystrokes did you put on yours? I use FCP every day, and yet when I try to think about what shortcuts I want, none stand out in my mind. lol

You use your Wacom tablet to edit or just draw with it throughout the day.
