it almost looks like I compressed it to put it on youtube, and it's only a certain segment. How do i change the bit rate just for that certain scene? and how do i find it? thanks for your help Andrew

What software are you using, i.e. what versions and do you have compressor available. Once I know that I can give you your best options. I myself use the full Final Cut Studio Package, so I may have more options available to me. I know in the newest version of iDVD there is the option for a professional encode that should produce more acceptable results. Again, without more info as to the software you are using it is hard to say.

You should be able to use FinalCut Pro to set compression markers that iDVD encoder will read. It may take a couple of tries to get it just right i.e. adding additional compression markers, but that should help out with the quality.
