Alex, for green screen just be sure you have lighting on both sides to make sure you have no shadows. Shadows are deal killers when it comes to green screen. The most important thing is that your subject must be at least 5 ft in front of the green screen or you will have severe bleeding. It may look fine in your video but when you go to chroma key you will tear your hair out.

I'm also starting my own production company. I offer 3 different services to keep diversified, video, still photography and graphic design. The equipment I have now is 2 Macs (15" MacBook Pro and MacPro tower) both loaded with Final Cut Studio 2, Adobe CS3 (PS, AI, AE, ID).

For cameras I have a Nikon D80 Digital SLR and a Canon XL2.

I have a set of Cowboy Studio photo strobes for the still photography and a backdrop set up with a chroma green, white and black backdrops. I managed to get everything for under $10K (it was all acquired over time and searched for good deals, I'm defiantly not well off enough to spend that kind of cash at one time)

I am in the process of starting a production company. What would you suggest as a good quality camera for a decent price?

The trick with green screen is
1. no shadows
2. have subject at least 5 ft in front of the green screen or you will have bleeding.
3. make sure that your lighting isn't harsh like not too much light!
