Anyone use the Edirol V8 yet? curious how it matches up with the V4....

BTW, Modul8 is my weapon of choice, 2 laptops+ a handicam thru an Edirol V4. Failsafe, mixable and powerful.

Yo Taxidriver

I love VJ'g for just this... the innovation of using crazy old outdated equipment, live, to create fun visuals. I use an old Hi8 Sony Handicam mixed into my Edirol V4 as one of my inputs to do crazy live feedback stuff with it. Even on a 30' screen, it looks cool cuz it's ANALOG. Yep.. that's right, it's even in realtime!

Have you played with any of the supercheap oldschool video mixers available on ebay for almost nothing? They can do some cool stuff with a V4 and some feedback.

Hello again !

With this old TV-Cards with an Composite-or S-Video Input and an old Analog -Camcorder you can make the best WebCam-substitution at all. There is no jerking, no noise. You have a very sharp Picture, and the best : you can Zoom.

Show me an USB-WebCam that can make this things for this price (TV-Card + Analog-Cam about 30$ i think).

That's an amazing Thing

Last time i had a chance to buy an old PC for "10" € . First Time i thought "oh no another old scrap of metal" . But then i look inside the old Thing and i see no AGP or.other , but an onboard Graphic and 6 PCI-Slots & PIII 1 Ghz. You don't believe it, but thats enough to stream 4 VideoSignals in 640x480 to another PC where the Streams rearranged in Realtime With this rare thing (6 PCI) i make a multi video Studio Server in one Case with Linux + GigaBit-Network.

Believe me that's no Problem at all. I Have much old TV-Cards with BT878-Chip or SAA7134 with Composite or SA-Video-Input, that's the goal.

But a Question to you Guys ,

i need a pair of old analog CamCorders, Can anybody help here ? (i pay for it )

Believe me an Analog Cam with a good Sensor directly put in the TV-Card has as good Quality as DV. not so much but, it's even good.
The GUI for this amazing VJing-Server i can made with my Laptop, The Video-Streams can encoded at the Server to 4-5MB/Sec-Streams in 640x480 (Realtime) so that you have really no Artefacts. And all 4 Streams are 200Mbits that can be made withe cheapest RTL8169-Cards.

Please Video Friends, when somewhere lies an old analog Camcorder around please send it to me i pay for delivery and little more
Please tell a message at the inbox.

thx for you all
