Apple just announced their Final Cut Pro X software details at NAB in Las Vegas last night to the Final Cut Pro Users Group and their Supermeet. I’m excited for the announcement and can’t wait to see it, when it’s released in June.
I just released a podcast that goes over the details of this announcement and what it means for you. I'd love to hear your feedback on the podcast.

I think that this is more of a prosumer app not not a pro app. Yes there are some great features that some might like, but honestly it didn't seem to really wow me enough to switch from fcp7 to x. Some of the new things it can do like syncing audio I can do in seconds anyhow, but the colour correcting with multi cameras is pretty cool, but again we use the same cameras that are all synced up as far as settings and colours, so I don't need a new program for this.
Its an over glorified imovie with a very busy interface which seems confusing. I honestly wouldn't use this yet for a while, still too new of an app to use, let them work the bugs out first and let the guys from the mac discussion boards wrap their heads around it for a while. Nothing worse then having a deadline on a video and not having anyone help you trouble shoot issues that might incur. Just my thoughts.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Long on April 13, 2011 at 4:10pm Yeah...I'm not too excited about it. I think it's good for beginners and prosumers but not for high end needs. I'm actually thinking about switching to Premiere, but will wait until I know more details. I'm sure I'll get FCPX and it will work for some videos, but not for all the things I use FCP for. I'm a little disappointed for my own needs but see why they changed it.
