How much is too much? Do you use slow motion in your wedding videos? Do you prefer not to use slow motion? Slow motion is an effect that can enhance and allow a video to flow to soft music or even cover a shaky camera. But like any effect it can be over done. What is your philosophy of slow motion?
To slo-mo or not to slo-mo, that is the question...

Permalink Reply by Eric Hvisc on October 26, 2011 at 9:05am this is what separates the pros from the amateurs. you can not say what is too much or not enough, you have to feel it. I normally start a slow mo at 60% and depending on the material I may raise it, or lower it. some times it's a rescue Slow mo, (things happened to fast) again it all depends on how it feels.

That's a great question. I think most people use to enhance the "moment" and make it slow down or and seem frozen in time. I also use it to give parts of the video a more dramatic effect. Since we are seeing it more and more in tv and the movies, editors are wanting to emulate the effect and put it in their videos. But, that can definitely be something that some editors do too much. "with everything in moderation..."
Maybe I'll bring that up in my podcast at www.ImproveMyWeddingVideo.com and see what people have to say.
