You can use those to control your exposure, focus, white balance etc, but you will have to experiment with it alot so that you get to know which settings give a good picture (Depending on light). May be you need to let me know what level of videography you are on then we can pick from that. Taking good pictures will take some experience which you can achieve by quite some experimenting.
