Magic, casting, ideas and film money

Well, Working the weekend. Magic are on a run for the trophy and I'm doing live streaming from a sports bar, using our new streaming gear. After I get it set up I plan to head back o the studio and catch up on a bit of editing I need to finish. If I'm lucky I'll make it out by midnight.

I've been talking with my group about copyright lately, working to keep us on the up and up. Copyright these days is a real gray area. Most of what I know is from listening to Gordon Firemark's… Continue

Film and Entertainment Incentive

This week, Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed the 2009-10 budget preserving economic development items. Among those items, the Film and Entertainment Incentive received $10.8 million - more than double the $5 million that was allocated last year.

Thanks to State Legislators and the Governor for recognizing the importance of the film, digital media and entertainment industry to the state of Florida, especially during these tough, economic times.

Starting June 1,… Continue

Renaissance Zone Tax Free

I worked for years in the Metro-Detroit area and I am well aware of the economic environment in south-east Michigan. What some of you may not know is that for the past 25 years, more films and videos were produced each year in south-east Michigan than in Hollywood and New York combined. True, most were not theatrical release, rather industrial, medical and educational.

So, times being what they are, Pontiac, a small city about 60-miles north of Detroit has taken a bold move. In a bid… Continue

Good and Bad

Today was somewhat of a bust, but there was a happy ending. I spent most of the day at Kennedy Space Center. The phone provider had told us that they would have a DSL line ready for us at the landing site. I meet my Exec. Producer and the satellite truck operator that was covering it for air at 5:30 AM and we all get escorted to the landing site. We get all set up for the satellite shot and no phone provider. We do a live shot for air and after that AT&T shows up and tells us he can't help… Continue

STS-125 Landing

it's 11:30 pm and I really should be sleeping but I just got home and need to chill. I have to be up at 3 am to head over to Kennedy Space Center to cover the landing of STS-125, Atlantis after an amazing mission repairing Hubble. Plan to live stream the behind the scenes with the sate truck team on www.cfnews13.com. I hope the weather lets them land. I'll fill you in on the shoot tomorow.. Nite.

In response to your request for "Hauntings" spots. In Ocala, Florida; The Seven Sisters Inn. The SciFi Ghosthunters were here and did an episode at The Seven Sisters Inn. We interviewed the SciFi Team and they enjoyed being here. They are coming back as the Ft. King area where the Swamp Fox had the battles is intriguing to them. Hope this helps!

He's a producer here in Orlando, he co-produced the Christian films "Facing the Giants" as well as "Fireproof". Both films were very successful in the Christian market. But his studio is here in town. He's pretty much striving to make Orlando the Christian film making capitol of the world... and i'm right behind him. :-)
