Profile Information

What is your line of work?
Videography, Post Production/Editing, Producing/Directing, Event Production, Music
What is your website address?
http://www.louangeli.com
What part of the country/world do you service?
Mid-Atlantic States (USA)
Tell us about your company or services:
I'm a filmmaker, videojournalist and firefighter who specializes in developing programming dealing with major emergencies and disasters. I also have a conventional local client group and I work a great deal with fire-rescue-EMS manufacturers and distributors.

During major disasters I respond, along with some other crazy colleague, to document the incident grabbing as much b-roll and sound bites as we can. My gigs have included The Great Flood of 1993, Hurricane Andrew, The Serbian Ware, The War in Iraq, The San Diego 2007 Wildfires, The Loma Prieta Quake, World Trade Center Disaster, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Ike.
What equipment do you use?
Panasonix HVX200, DVX100B -- a complete location production package, including laptop non-linear editing using Sony Vegas 9 PRO, which is a wonderful system for those of us who work using a PC platform. I have a jib and other various toys for scheduled shooting.

For disaster response I take along two HVX200, a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, and a palm-held consumer HDV camera. For most of my shooting, I make it a point to use a tripod or monopod, but there are times when I'll hang the camera on the Videosmith Mighty Wondercam.

Of course, there is audio, portable lighting, editing, suitcase sat, and the usual stuff. But the most important equipment that we carry is our Trauma Kit, complete with AED.

Sure, The current recession has meant troubled times for business owners, but many marketing experts agree that this is not the time to cut back on advertising and promotion. After all, your competitors aren’t hiding… Continue

I just post some interesting pictures on my page. With them you'll see how we did a very elaborate scene with almost no budget. The simple trick gave a stunning scene in the upcoming film ''Seven days''.
