Did you know that rendering a DVD is a very sensitive operation? Tired of skips, hesitations, freezes in your finished DVD? So you spend hours creating a great DVD complete with scene selections etc and now you test it only to find that it has issues. Your computer is constantly talking all the time and this can create jumps and skips in your finished product. Turn off the internet connection, your screen saver, anit-virus software etc while rendering! Screen saver? Really? Well think about this for a moment… how do you think your computer knows when there is no activity for the specified amount of time you requested and time to put on the screen saver? Also, when burning a DVD remember that it’s best to slow down the speed. Optimize the video bitrate (Mbps) to about 6. (this is also a great trick to get more than 4.7 gb of information on a disc!) Also, when you put in the DVD and let’s say you have a 16X burner, burn the disc at 12X instead. Yes it takes a little longer but it will avoid discs that ultimately end up an expensive drink coasters with holes in them.

I highly recommend Philips lightscribe DVD's. I do not use cheapo DVD's. But most skipping and freezes can be avoided by changing the optimization from 8 to 6 and burning at a lower speed. If you have a 16x burner then manually change to 12x. Happy Rendering!

One way of having skipping DVD is burner & disk incompatibilities if you are using cheapo brands then mostlikely you'll have a skiipping dvd disk or sometimes it wont lay at all. There are also times when your pc is infected with a worm or trojan you tend to get a pixellated view of the video on your tv screen. Best remedy turn off netconnection and anti virus protection. It really helps alot when you are using Norton Anti-virus 2008 coz it really works. Ive experienced virus attacks from the net & it just blocks them and later generates reports with the I.P. address of the attacking pc.
