I've been working on creating a syllabus to teach a new generation of designers, animators, and to some extent editors. Lately, I've been playing around on my iPad... a lot. Not because there are some fun games, but because there are some great applications that can either help to supplement or replace some of my desktop/laptop gear.
Generally, I use my iPad strictly for scribbling down ideas. Although I also use a physical sketchbook, sometimes the mobile apps are really handy and merge data seamlessly into the desktop apps I use.
I've been using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for illustrations, but started to switch to Adobe Photoshop Sketch and Adobe's Illustrator Draw.
For editing, I have cut a few rough cuts with Adobe's Premiere Clip - which is really fun for shooting some BTS material for small studio and personal projects. If I want, the EDL goes right to my desktop to keep working. Unfortunately, I can't send my Premiere Project to my iPad. It also takes a while to sync footage to the server from an iPad, so I don't take huge clips.
What am I working on? Still mostly on Mac & PC, but doing more work professionally on an iPad than I thought I would.
NAB SHOW, Las Vegas.
